Who We Are
Every year, the Nevada County Concert Band brings back to life an era in American history when the local Sunday Band Concert was a grand social occasion. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills’ gold country of Grass Valley and Nevada City, we perform at public parks and local events with no admission charge — outdoor music, family friendly, with no paid musicians.
Our local volunteer musicians will entertain you with a fine selection of family-friendly music. Join the hundreds of loyal NCCB fans at any of our concerts and you’ll understand why we believe the Gold Country is so special.
We Can’t Do This Without You
Your generosity keeps our concerts open to everyone with no admission charge and our community music thriving. Every contribution directly supports the Nevada County Concert Band.

Join Our Fan Email ListA Brief History of our Band
The Nevada County Concert Band traces its roots to the concert bands of the early 1900s, which played for county fairs, patriotic celebrations, and Sunday afternoon gatherings. In 1971, a small group of musicians formed the current band to carry on that tradition; by 1972 it was reorganized and designated the Official Concert Band of Nevada City by the board of supervisors. Today, some 70 volunteer musicians keep that legacy alive — with no admission charge — for their community.
